Girl Sketch

An experiment in drawing a stylized girl as a morning warm-up sketch. I might wind up doing a few more of these.

I dig it. Its got that blend of wholesomeness with the cute face, hair band and soft colors but theres a slight edge with the nose piercing and wine. I wouldn't mind seeing more of these.

Really its just a reminder that I need to get back into the habit of daily warm ups like this. Lately I've been putting so much time into a big commission that haven't had time for much else.

I know exactly how you feel. I had a few months where I was so bogged down with actual work that I didn't have time to do little personal doodles and I'm amazed what a difference it makes on my mood and abilities throughout the day. Can't recommend it enough! Make the time!

Believe me, I noticed. I've got the time now, its just a matter if trying to decide what to do first.

I've been getting in the habit of posting my daily sketches in a week-end blog post and it helps when I have a theme that connects them together. I'm brainstorming a couple of themes right now.
